  • Item descriptionThe Accelerated Manager Program, or AMP for short, is a management training program designed for new and recent college graduates. AMP is designed to provide hands-on, day-to day learning within your field and your sector, coupled with dynamic and customized leadership development, as well as one-on-one coaching and mentorship. AMP utilizes a personalized approach aimed at focusing on areas of opportunity for each participant's individual strengths, skills, and interests, while also giving you the tools to expand in areas you may want a bit more experience and focus.

  • At Compass Group, Manager in Training (MIT) is a job title and completion of the Accelerated Manager Program (AMP) is the catalyst needed for an MIT to move into full-time leadership. Usually, Manager in Training (MIT) will be the job title that an Accelerated Manager Program (AMP) participant will have. Once graduating AMP, they will then also "graduate" job titles into a supervisory or management-level job title.

  • AMP is currently offered for field-level management roles within the areas of hospitality, culinary, customer service, support services, and facilities management and within our various areas of industry including business & industry (corporate dining), education, healthcare, sports & entertainment, and vending.

  • Upon successfully graduating the Accelerated Manager Program, participants will move into a supervisory or management-level leadership role within the sector they completed the program. During the course of the program, you and your manager(s) will be communicating what that process will look like and about potential available opportunities upon graduation. Some roles may require relocation, and if this is the case, you will be aware of this potential from very early on so you can decide if that works for you before accepting an offer and so that there are no surprises for anyone later. Once you do graduate and move into leadership, your career path continues from there in whichever direction you want and work to take it.

  • We call all of the companies under the Compass Group name "sectors." When deciding where you'll kick off your career with Compass, we work diligently to try and understand your interests and to find the sector that best suits those. That said, while not every sector will have available needs at every moment, if we are unable to place you within your most desired sector, we will do our best to help you decide the next best direction. All of our sectors are amazing for many of the same AND for many different reasons! We aim to find what's best for you based on what we currently have available.

  • Yes, it sure is! There are some parameters around how quickly you look to make those types of moves, but you'll often meet people that have worked within multiple sectors within Compass. Some have wanted to work within a different industry, some have done that and gone back to a prior industry within the company, some decide to go from the field to corporate and others from corporate to the field. It's definitely hard to get bored with such bountiful opportunities at your fingertips!

  • Work authorization is required for the Accelerated Manager Program and may be required for most internships.

  • If you are looking to start your career outside of the US, please visit our locations page on Compass Group UK website to view the countries we operate in throughout the world and how to find jobs within each. If you plan to start your career in the US, it's all about building your network and vocalizing your interest in growth and where it can take you. Most of the people you'll meet that have worked for Compass internationally did just that and weren't afraid of where in the world Compass could take them.
